What
is your central theme statement? What is exactly the message you want
to get across? Write it down on a piece of paper. It should be a very clear sentence, and a short one, that defines what your audience will do or think after listening to your speech. Use it as a reminder everytime you are preparing the presentation, you may want to stick on your desk. Whenever you are thinking about content or visual aids look back at the paper and ask yourself the question "Is this content or visual aid directly or indirectly contributing in getting that central theme statement across?" If the answer is no, then you probably should discard it. |
